Keeping Learning on Track During Temporary Relocation

It’s always wonderful to receive positive feedback from our school partners — and even more so during challenging circumstances.

Recently, one of our local primary schools has temporarily relocated to a leisure centre while essential repair works are carried out at their main school site. We know that moving an entire school community is no small task. It requires flexibility, resilience, and a great deal of teamwork from school staff, pupils, and support services alike.

During this transition, our technicians were on site at the leisure centre to provide technical support and ensure everything was running smoothly for staff and pupils.

We were delighted to receive the following feedback from the school’s Head Teacher:

“I just want to feed back about the technicians who came to the Leisure Centre yesterday. Both were so helpful and patient with us and Max in particular was excellent.”

Comments like this mean a great deal to us. Supporting schools — especially when they are navigating unexpected changes — is at the heart of what we do. This year we are running a new campaign - 'FREE ICT4 Schools'. We believe every student deserves access to quality technology. Our FREE ICT4 Schools campaign supports schools by donating essential ICT equipment, including laptops, touchscreens, and STEM resources, helping create modern, engaging learning environments.

We also offer free IT support for non‑customer primary schools and free visitor management systems for existing customers, along with guidance on making the most of donated technology.

The Role

We're on the hunt for a dynamic salesperson to join our team and account manage an abundance of clients and drive both existing and new business growth.

With a host of profitable in-house products, a partially untapped customer based and regular new business lead generation through our website, the successful candidate will thrive in this sales role.

A key focus will be the educational side of the business which remains buoyant and busy in the current economic climate. Experience within this sector is essential whilst a knowledge of winning new clients through public sector frameworks (or similar tender processes) would also be beneficial but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business: Identify tender opportunities and lead proposals for education sector projects and business clients.

Account Management: Oversee new clients and nurture existing ones, ensuring top-notch customer support.

Sales Strategy: Achieve sales targets, embrace a highly successful sales process with a 90%+ close rate and develop your own strategic account plans.

Qualifications:

Proven and recent track record in IT sales, ideally including the education sector.

Technical Know-How: Strong understanding of IT products, services, and solutions.

Proven experience in IT sales or tech-related business development.

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

A results-driven mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Self-motivated with a drive to build and nurture client relationships.

Confident in pitching to senior decision-makers, bursars or IT leads.

Thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven and rewarding environment.

Soltech IT - Donates Promethean ActivPanels To Six Schools

2025 will see Soltech IT continue to donate IT equipment to school's throughout the Southwest as part of our 'Giving Back To Schools' donation campaign.

We were delighted to be able to donate more than £15,000 of 65" and 75" Promethean ActivPanel Touchscreens to six local schools and MAT's.

Gareth Jones, commented "As a business it's great to be able to give something back to schools, be they a customer or not. Our most recent donations have helped transform the learning environments of pupils which is something we are very proud of."

These most recent donations have not only included a 65" or 75" Promethean ActivPanel Touchscreen, the schools have also received WiFi module upgrades, Android functionality, wall mounting brackets and relevant cables, plus delivery, removal / WEEE disposal of old equipment, installation and training, all as part of Soltech IT's donation.

That's around a £3,000 donation at each school or MAT.
