Soltech IT currently has three vacancies; Field Based School's ICT Technician (term time and part time hours considered), Senior IT Technician (Azure / SharePoint) and IT Helpdesk Technician.

School's ICT Technician - Field Based Somerset, Bristol and Bath Area's

(Flexible term time working hours / school hours available)

Due to continued expansion Soltech IT are currently recruiting for a 2nd/3rd Line IT Technician to join our busy and vibrant technical team.

The ideal candidate will have solid  experience of working within a educational environment, ideally having worked for an academy trust supporting primary schools, or having worked for a similar organisation to Soltech IT, supporting schools.


Role responsibilities include


Soltech IT is looking to recruit an exceptional School ICT Engineer to join our support team, providing outsourced IT support services in Somerset, Bristol, Bath and surrounding regions.


This is an extremely varied role for a customer facing, practical, proactive and dedicated individual.


Successful candidates will possess at least 1 years experience in an ICT educational support environment and have a good knowledge of Windows, Apple, VOIP and Broadband / filtering technologies / solutions.


Applicants must be good communicators with the ability to work under pressure and on their own initiative. Regular site visits are required for routine support and installations, or maintenance that cannot be completed remotely.


You will have come from a Microsoft environment with good Windows 8.1, 10, MS Office 2007-2016, Windows Server (STD and/or SBS), Exchange, Azure, Active Directory, TCP IP and Office 365 knowledge.


As an Apple focused business practical experience of Apple technologies, devices and applications such as MDM, iPad and iOS is desirable.


Additional hands on use of VOIP telephony and educational broadband / filtering solutions would also be a bonus.


Key Technical Skills

  • Field based support engineer including server based experience

2nd/3rd Line IT Technician

Due to continued expansion Soltech IT are currently recruiting for a field based Schools' ICT Technician to join educational support team.


As an expanding, debt free and self-financing company Soltech IT offers security in these uncertain times, for those looking for a new challenge or looking to take the next step their IT career.


The ideal candidate will have solid 2nd line experience with the aptitude to progress to a 3rd line position quickly, or already be well versed in a 3rd line role working for a MSP.


Experience of SharePoint and Azure implementations, administration and support of these products is essential. 


Role responsibilities include


  • Providing a high level of service and support our business and educational client base.
  • Recommend changes in the infrastructure for existing and potential new clients to meet the client needs.
  • Ensure that all projects are well planned, considering reasonable timescales to complete the work, contingency, risk planning, resource availability and client expectations.
  • Carefully plan the technical and operational aspects of agreed projects, collaborating and communicating internally and where necessary with the client to ensure that all elements of the project have been incorporated into the plan and are well understood.
  • Undertake technical implementation activities, either stand-alone for small projects or as part of a team for larger projects, either on client sites or remotely.
  • Act as the main point of contact with clients on designated projects to manage expectations, provide regular project reporting and to support clients in the delivery of their own responsibilities within the projects.
  • Following project completion, ensure that all project work is carefully and fully documented and formally handed over to the Service Desk.

 

This role requires all of the following attributes


  • Minimum of 4 years IT support experience as senior technical role within an MSP environment
  • Experience in scope, design and implementation of projects for clients in the small to medium enterprise space
  • Experience implementing, supporting and migrating Microsoft Windows Server operating systems 2003, 2008/2008R2, 2012/2012R2 &2016
  • Experience implementing, supporting and migrating backup solutions (Examples: StorageCraft, Veeam, Azure)
  • Enterprise storage installation, configuration and troubleshooting (Examples: Fibre channel, ISCSI, SAN and NAS)
  • Configuration and support of Microsoft Windows client operating systems:Windows 10
  • Experience with Office 365 including on premise, hybrid and remote migrations
  • Knowledge of Office 365 product suite & licenses – including Teams, SharePoint Online and Azure
  • Strong Networking knowledge covering LAN/vLAN/WANtechnologies.
  • Strong virtualisation skillset VMWare/Hyper-V configuration and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Active Directory (Azure and Windows Server) and administration of Group Policy
  • Experience in supporting and migrating file share applications (Example: SharePoint.)
  • Experience with scripting tools including WindowsPowerShell
  • Enterprise firewall installation, configuration and troubleshooting (Examples: Sonicwall,Draytek)
  • Good knowledge of managed switches (Examples: Cisco,Netgear)
  • Knowledge of public cloud platforms AWS, Azure,Google
  • Full UK driving licence

IT Helpdesk Technician - Vacancy Filled

We are recruiting for an IT/ICT Support Technician to join our helpdesk service team. 


Role responsibilities include


The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with incoming support calls, support tickets, workshop repairs and on occasion will be required to travel to customer sites to provide support to clients.

 

This role requires all of the following attributes

Good time management, an eagerness to learn and excellent communication skills are a must.


The ideal candidate should be comfortable and conversant with networking technologies and the latest cloud computing systems such as Microsoft/Office 365 and ideally Azure / SharePoint / Teams.


You'll possess excellent communication skills, determination and an ability to competently troubleshoot IT issues. An eagerness to learn with the ability to progress within the company is also fundamental.
