Our GDPR compliant online AES encrypted cloud backups offer schools complete piece of mind with data stored at a data centre in the cloud for a recommended period of 28 days. (Data storage period can be increased)
This fully managed and automated backup service is configured and maintained for you, by our qualified cloud engineers, giving you and your school one less job to worry about.
Backups will be automatically scheduled to run in the early hours of the morning, which means the schools internet connection is never slowed down during peak hours.
Our dedicated team of IT technicians are trained to deal with disaster recovery situations, so should a disaster ever strike that destroys your onsite data, you will know you are in 'safe hands' and that your valuable data is safe.
Advantages of Online Encrypted Backups
- With backups taken automatically every day, staff will no longer need to be responsible for changing tapes or hard drives
- Typically a school would rotate 2 tapes or hard drives on a daily basis giving the school a maximum of 48 hours of data to restore from. Cloud encrypted backups allow schools to store data for a recommended 28 days, allowing them to restore an individual file or all a full data set from any point during the 28 day period. (Data period can be increased)
- Very few schools actually remove their backup tapes or hard drives from the school overnight. Therefore, should a burglary or fire occur, the school could lose all of it's important data. Storing encrypted backups in the Cloud, removes this risk.
- With tape drives costing around £800 and tapes needing to be replaced every 12 to 18 months at prices ranging from £50 to £120 each, the online backup represents a considerable annual saving to the school.
