As the pioneers of continuous professional development within the computer curriculum, Soltech IT recognise that staff confidence and competence in the use of ICT within the classroom is key to ensuring a successful education.
To help schools, Soltech IT provides a number of CPD training events which are held throughout the year by our educational and technology consultants. These CPD events look at how best to use technology and applications within the classroom whilst meeting the objectives of the computer curriculum.
Our CPD events cover a wide range of topics including, E-Safety training, business manager cost saving / grant funding programmes, Apple / MDM training and much more.
We are also able to provide training at INSET days or at staff meetings. To learn more about our CPD events, click here
Meet Tom, he's our £15,000 autonomous, programmable humanoid robot, that among other things can teach pupils French!
Primary, Junior and Infants schools will benefit from the FREE use of our, loan ‘Lesson Plan Boxes’.
These boxes are full of different software applications, games and gadgets each designed to be used in accordance with the new computer curriculum, whilst catering for the varying age groups within a school, i.e. Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Each of the three areas of the new curriculum are covered, computer science, digital literacy and information technology.
Teachers are able to teach pupils about the component format of computers and how they are built and work, children can actively program, modify and debug software whilst learning about algorithms and much more…
Each box comes complete with instructions and lesson plan projects. One of our curriculum consultants will provide FREE on-site training in the use of each individual curriculum box, assisting teachers and supporting staff.
"In 2017 we held our first Computing week at St Keyna Primary. Without the support of Soltech and the free use of their resource boxes, it wouldn't have happened. As it was, the week provided an excellent opportunity for IT to be showcased and explored. We had dancing robots to launch the week in assembly and a carousel of activities for classes to partake in through the week. Our children loved their learning, accomplished lots of programing and were thoroughly inspired by the IT on offer."
Richard Eaton, Deputy Head Teacher - St Keyna Primary School
Last week the team headed to Ashton Gate to the Business Showcase South West.
We had a fantastic day exhibiting for the first time and met a whole host of brilliant people. We also teamed up with Rowena Fielding from Protecture to present a hugely informative talk on the new General Date Protection Regulation (GDPR). Every seat was filled and lots of notes were taken as Rowena delivered a fantastic talk.
If you missed the talk and worried you're not ready for GDPR (coming into force May 2018) give us a call and our team, along with Rowena, can ensure you and your business are ready!
