Overview


Soltech IT provides a comprehensive range of IT services and hands-on ICT / computing support to over 700 business and education (primary schools) clients across the South West of England. We put the needs of our clients first, taking care of all of their technology needs.

We are seeking to recruit a Finance Assistant who will provide administrative assistance directly to our Finance Manager to meet the financial obligations and objectives of the business.


Key responsibilities will include assisting in the following finance functions:


Purchase ledger


  • Check high volume of invoices for accuracy and input into Quickbooks 
  • Prepare weekly payment runs for approval 
  • Check supplier statements for accuracy


Sales ledger


  • Raise customer invoices from sales orders
  • Carry out credit control, following up on invoices and ensuring payments are collected, liaising with Finance Manager for escalation


General


  • Checking, posting and reconciliation of staff expense and mileage claims
  • Maintain and invoice £1.2m+ of monthly, quarterly and annual contract income.
  • Deal with customer and supplier queries
  • Establish and maintain manual and electronic filing systems as required
  • Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by communicating with employees and/or clients
  • Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions
  • Provide ad-hoc support for the Finance Manager and Directors as required
  • Deputise as required


Key skillsets should include:



  • Proficient user of Quickbooks
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Efficient and organised
  • Good communicator and team player
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (including Excel)


In return, we offer career progression and a starting salary between £10,000 and £14,000 negotiable for the right person. 


Benefits include a company pension, company bonus  scheme, free on-site parking, pro-rata holiday based on FTE of 20 days, plus additional holiday during the Christmas / New Year period. 


In addition, all business miles and expense will be paid for by the company.
