SIL Extended Hardware Warranty Terms and Conditions
1.Warranty Coverage
This Extended Warranty provides cover for eligible hardware products supplied by Soltech IT Ltd (“the Company”) for a total period of 36 months ("the fixed period") from the original date of order, unless otherwise stated in writing.
During this period, the Company will facilitate repair or replacement of covered hardware and may, at its sole discretion, offer a replacement product of equivalent specification at cost price.
2. Warranty Period
The Warranty Period begins on the original date of order and continues for:
- Laptops / Notebooks: 36 months
- Desktops / PCs: 36 months
- iPads: 36 months
Proof of order and purchase is required to validate warranty status.
3. Warranty Remedies
If a defect arises and a valid claim is received during the Warranty Period, Soltech IT Ltd will, at its discretion:
- Repair the product using new or refurbished parts; or
- ·Where a product is deemed by Soltech IT Ltd to be beyond economical repair, Soltech IT Ltd shall, at its sole discretion, offer a replacement product of equivalent specification. Such replacement shall be provided at cost price and shall be payable by the party holding the benefit of this warranty at the time the determination is made.
Replacement products or parts assume the remaining warranty.
4. Scope of Warranty
This warranty covers:
- Hardware component failures under normal use
- Manufacturing defects
5. Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, liquid exposure, or external causes
- Unauthorised modifications or repairs
- Normal wear and tear (e.g., cosmetic damage, scratches)
- Consumable parts (e.g., batteries)
- Cosmetic damage (e.g., scratches, casing wear, markings)
- Software issues, operating systems, viruses, ransomware or data loss,
- Damage from use outside manufacturer specifications
- Serial number tampering
- Repeated false claims
- Intentional damage
6. Customer Responsibilities
The customer must:
- Retain proof of purchase
- Back up all data prior to return / service. Devices may be wiped during the repair process. (Soltech IT Ltd is not responsible for data loss)
- Follow return instructions, including proper packaging
- Provide accurate information regarding the issue
- Use the product in accordance with manufacture guidelines
7. Technical Support & Service Process
Warranty service may include:
- Remote hardware troubleshooting
- Return-to-base repair (customer ships product to service centre)
- On-site service (if included in service level agreement)
Soltech IT Ltd reserves the right to determine the appropriate service method.
8. RMA & Returns Process
- All returns require an RMA number issued by Soltech IT
- Products must be returned for inspection before any repair or replacement
- If no fault is found, diagnostic and bench testing fees may apply, whilst return shipping may be chargeable
- Soltech IT reserves the right to test all returned items
- Replaced parts become property of Soltech IT Ltd
9. Shipping & Risk of Loss
- Customer will be responsible for shipping costs to service centre unless otherwise specified.
- Soltech IT Ltd covers return shipping after repair
- Risk of loss transfers in accordance with the shipping terms specified during the service request. Soltech IT Ltd assumes responsibility for the Product upon confirmed receipt and initial inspection at its service centre. Until such point, the Product remains at the risk of the customer or their nominated carrier from the time of collection or dispatch.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Soltech IT Ltd shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Total liability shall not exceed the original purchase price of the Product
- Nothing in these terms excludes your statutory rights under applicable consumer law
- Implied warranties (including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose) are limited to the Warranty Period
- No liability for loss of data, business interruption, or software corruption
11. Regional Legal Rights
This warranty gives specific legal rights. The customer may have additional rights under applicable consumer laws, which vary by jurisdiction.
Nothing in this warranty limits statutory rights.
12. Transferability
This warranty is non-transferable and shall terminate upon:
- Resale of the product
- Transfer of ownership
- Gifting or other disposition of the product to a third party
13. Automatic Renewal / Termination
·At the end of this fixed period, or any subsequent renewal period during which the warranty is in force to a renewal under this condition (“a renewal period”), this warranty shall be automatically renewed for a further period identical to the original agreed fixed period. Unless written notice to terminate is given not less than one hundred and twenty (120) days prior to the expiry date at the end of the fixed period or of a renewal period, as the case may be.
14. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by the laws of the country or region where the product was purchased.
